A venue viewed in the morning can feel very different during an afternoon ceremony. Follow the sun from guest arrival through the final photograph, and check each part of the venue separately.

Orient the ceremony

Stand at the couple’s position and check the sun towards the guests and photographer. Compare layouts that reduce looking directly towards the sun while keeping the intended backdrop.

Follow moving shade

Preview shadows from mapped buildings and terrain across arrival, ceremony and drinks. Inspect trees, canopies and temporary structures in person; they may not appear in the map.

Make time for portraits

Use golden-hour times to discuss a portrait window with the photographer. Check whether buildings or hills block the sun earlier, and leave enough time to walk between the ceremony and portrait locations.
